After months of blood, sweat, tears, and plenty of rivets, one tech inspection could make or break our weekend. Would they declare that the LabRat is a cheater car and give us 500 penalty laps? Would we have spent all this time building a car just for a “nice” weekend at the raceway, watching?
They inspected everything. They looked inside of the Rat, outside of the Rat, and even up the tail. They asked our team every hard question they could think of and our drivers answered.
And when the sweat beads started to form across our drivers’ brows the tech crew let the cat out of the bag–the LabRat was a known quantity as they’ve been following our build here and on the forums. I guess it pays to be transparent! They gave us the pass sticker and made it official, the LabRat is in the inaugural ChumpCar race!
Congratulations to our drivers and our crew who have put endless hours into building the AutosportLabs’ LabRat! Good luck today in the race! Let’s hope we make it the whole 24 hours!
